Why not Washington Palm?
Due to its invasive nature, the Washington Palm is a controlled landscape plant that may not be planted within 500 feet of a native plant community. This palm is also known to harbor rodents in the dead palm fronds that accumulate on its trunk, prompting some communities to pass laws requiring frond removal. Due to its size and branching pattern, the Washington Palm looks out of place in most landscapes.
